Default Possible to trim gw.dat?

Is it possible because I don't play PvE anymore?

About the only way to trim it would be to delete it, run the game, and then only log in to a PvP-only character (never, of course, logging in to any of your PvE characters who are in PvE areas, obviously).

That might make loading into pvp matches take quite a while at first because you need to download all the armor and weapon skins first. But that would be the only real solution yes.

One question tho, what kind of disc space do you have if 1gb will save you from getting full? It won't save much more then that.

I don't see any other reason you would want this done.

I want to transfer it onto a USB but my USB at the moment is tiny.

Spend $10 and get a 4 GB thumbdrive, perhaps? Unless you've got several years of fluff that has never been removed, GW.dat should only be around 3.75 GB... Of course, a cheaper option would be, if you have a DVD burner, to grab a blank DVD from the nearest dollar store and burn the GW.dat (and a copy of the executable to make reinstallation easier).

In theory you could start with a new dat and just load into a busy district of gtob. This way people will be zoning in and out with alot of different armors for different reasons. Then when you go into PvP areas you will have a short loading for weapons and areas but should at least keep the armor downloads to a minimum.

the .dat file still needs updating on a dvd it's not possible. Even a 8GB usb should be really cheap and he would have enouth storage for gw and some more stuff. I got a 16GB for 20 USD more then year ago would expect it to be cheaper now.
